The Yolo County Pheasants Forever was awarded the "Passing the Tradition Award" by Pheasants Forever. This award honors a chapter who goes above and beyond to share the heritage of upland hunting and conservation with new generations. This recognition is for the chapter who has continued to dedicate their time, knowledge, and passion to mentoring others through learn to hunt events, youth outreach, and a passion for getting youth, women, and veterans in the field.
PF's "The Legacy Mentor" was awarded to Mike Mullins, President of the Yolo County chapter. Lauren Stamm, Southwest Regional Representative for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, wrote: "This individual is the most passionate person I have ever met when it comes to getting new folks in the field and in addition to being a Hunter Safety Educator, he navigated tricky state policy that made things difficult to put on youth hunts. He embodies the heart of the Pheasants Forever mission: ensuring that the values of stewardship, respect for the land, and love of the hunt are carried forward so the uplands remain alive with opportunity for generations to come. He also is more than willing to help other chapters with Learn to Hunt events, and give them ideas and tips to host their own successful events.
Congratulations, Mike, and Yolo County Chapter leaders!
